Inspired by our esteemed patron, the Cholo Foundation is committed to fostering a society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive through quality education, we aspire to break the cycle of poverty and inequality; as well as create pathways for meaningful employment.
Mission
The Cholo Foundation is dedicated to confront the challenges of unemployment, poverty and inequality, by empowering marginalized communities with tools and resources necessary to pursue learning. Through our actions we strive to create a more equitable society, ensuring the struggles of the past continue to inform and inspire generations to come.
Tlou Cholo
Patron
Tlou Cholo Foundation was established in 2012 in honour of the struggle stalwart comrade. Dr Tlou Cholo who sacrificed his whole life for the liberation of the country. The primary objective of the foundation is to uplift the socio-economic development of previously disadvantaged communities in the rural areas and townships of our country.
The intention of the Foundation has been to intensively recruit individuals from different parts of the society with different skills, knowledge and experience ranging from politics, business, labour and social spectrum to serve in the Board, and dialogue teams of the Foundation in order to achieve its goals and objectives.
Through its existence the foundation has established a strong relationship with the Tshwane University of Technology and the programme of the foundation will be shared with the University for the purpose of realising its objectives and uphold the legacy of the stalwart. The University has also honoured comrade Cholo with an honorary Doctorate.
Making an impact
Our impact reverberates through collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, as we endeavor to preserve and recognize the substantial contributions made by our stalwart. In doing so, we foster a collective memory and a shared commitment to the principles and values that guided their struggle, ultimately enriching our society and inspiring future generations to contribute to positive change. We are not just commemorating the past; we are actively shaping the future by addressing the challenges of today and ensuring that the lessons of history continue to guide us toward a better tomorrow.
Goals
The patron of the foundation and the foundation intended to work and contribute towards
dealing with the three inter-related contradictions of unemployment, poverty and inequality
though promotion of excess to education as a priority.
